JOBS! BIG AND SMALL! WE’VE GOT THEM ALL!
We need your input on several of our agenda items.
Please think of an idea you would like to see for an upcoming Panto. If it’s scripted, great; if not, even better!
We are still looking for help with this year’s Panto. If you help, your name will BE IN THE PROGRAM and thousands of people can say they’ve heard of you!
Glory and Glamour can be yours if you serve on the Board of Directors! Passion required and a sense of humour is mandatory.
The FVGSS made an appearance in the 68th Annual Torchlight Parade, part of the White Rock Sea Festival of 2017. August 6, at nearly 9 pm, the floats moved out as the sky began to darken. Of course, we had been there since 3:45, getting the scenery arranged, setting up the lighting and sound equipment and securing the giant clam so our mermaid and her assistant would be safe and visible the whole time. Adding some very fancy frosting to that cake was Lyn Verra Lay, long time FVGSS participant and 2017 BC Culture Days Ambassador for Surrey. The pictures below tell the story!

It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of Robert (Bob) Eric Sibson on November 20, 2016. Bob was 83.
He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Bob was no stranger to the world of entertainment, and he brought smiles to many faces over the course of his lifetime. He and his widow, Judy (Burton-McGill) were long-time supporters of the Fraser Valley Gilbert and Sullivan Society.
A celebration of Bob’s life was held December 9, 2016 at Highlands United Church, Edgemont Village in North Vancouver.
In lieu of flowers, donations to PAL (Performing Arts Lodge) Vancouver in Bob’s memory would be appreciated. Click here to donate.
